Is there any color that evokes hot sunny days, warm moonlit nights and the cool spray of water on heated skin like the color teal? When you slip your teal handbag over your shoulder and step out of your door, your summer mood is there for all to see–even if it’s in the middle of winter. Teal, turquoise and even aqua all so associated with sun and fun and water, that it’s not surprising that sometimes people drape themselves in these colors even when it’s cold outside. Or, perhaps, especially then.
But a Teal Clutch?
Sure. Even if you are dressed to the nines, a teal clutch can add that special little umph to your outfit. A pop of color to a black gown, or complementary sizzle to that flirty peach number. Which type of clutch depends on your personal tastes and, of course, on your outfit. For one type of look, perhaps a more moderate one, go for the small, leather teal clutch. But if your goal is to sass your outfit up, rhinestones, sequins or even turquoise or sea foam beach glass studded clutches can really make a statement.
Should I Get a Teal Purse?
Unlike a clutch, you’ll likely use a teal purse more often. In fact, some women may even prefer a teal shoulder bag instead of a small purse. Some people only carry around what they need for the day or the moment; others practically carry their lives in their bags. Which type you are will likely determine which sort of bag you carry. Not, of course, that anyone has to stop with only one teal bag. With all the shades available–from the deep greenish blue, to the bright bluish green–you can have many teal bags, all a different color.
What Colors Match?
People sometimes try to stick with blue or green when they are matching with colors in the teal range, but that doesn’t often work. If you want to pick out an outfit or color to go with your teal handbag, go with something completely different. Reddish hues, yellows, salmons and purples can complement your teal or turquoise colors perfectly. In fact, to get a good idea of what goes, you might want to look at nature itself. If your teal handbag is one of the colors of the ocean, look at the coral reefs and other undersea colors. Natural turquoise, some of which is mixed with reds, browns and blacks, can also be a source of inspiration.
Which Materials Are Best?
This, of course, depends on where you are going and what you are wearing. Take your teal shoulder bag, for instance. If you are headed for the beach or out for a summer event, what better than to have something lightweight, like straw? Leather, of course, is a good, long-lasting choice for an aqua clutch you are going to use year after year. Fabric purses go in and out of style, but if your preference is for a teal or turquoise purse made from fabric, go with that. It’s up to you. Whether you are setting your summer style or warming your winter bones, your teal handbags will be right there helping to set the mood.
